Lots

of hugs, parties, presents, pictures and tears… that pretty much sums up the past few days. Matt has been the Executive Director here for almost 4 years now. It is NOT and easy task to say good bye to his 140 residents

whom he has grown to love and care for so much, not to mention all of his staff, who have become such an amazing team! Really this building is like his family. Matt has this amazing ability to see his residents for who they really are, even if they can no longer speak,

feed themselves, walk, or even remember for themselves who they are. As we started doubting our course in aviation, I remember Matt saying that he needs a job where he can help people. I told him… you are helping people, by being the pilot and flying them to where they need to be. Matt loves flying and is so glad he can continue to fly and teach flying on the side.

But his heart… his heart is with the residents, this is what Matt meant by helping people, and what an amazing job he does. So now that the goodbyes are done, there seems to be a sense of excitement for the new job that is ahead of us.

Not to mention a small period of time of NO WORK!!!! Matt’s criteria for changing jobs, “to have one month off” So I guess it is only fitting to say….Let the month begin.
The pictures through out this post are of Matt’s building. He took the building through a huge referb and also totally redid the rock courtyard and turned it into a beautiful putting green.

Who says, just because you are in a care center you can’t keep your game up! We are going to miss you LCC of SV!
