Pickin' Pumpkins
On
Saturday we went to this small town pumpkin patch train ride thing.
We took Cody’s friend Seth with us and we all had a great time. It was nice having Seth with us, Cody
was so excited and energetic;. No whining, having to carry him or coax him to do anything. He kind of took on a leadership role and off he goes, telling Seth, so come look at this or do that.
They had miniature steam engines that you ride around this farm. We were fortunate enough to ride in the Cattle Car (not really used for cattle of course)
This was so fun, because the kids were free to move around the car.
Elena loved standing by the door and had fun shakin' her booty. Cody and Seth pretended to be lions and Matt and I… well we just were just happy to sit back and enjoy. This pumpkin patch is different then Apple Annie’s in SV, where
we road a hay ride and actually got to pick out and cut our pumpkin off the vine. Here, they just had pumpkins sitting out and displayed all cute. Basically like picking one up at the grocery store….
Ok, so it was more fun then that, but I miss being able to cut it off the vine. But that was then…anyways, the train made it worth it, and they had little tractor bikes for the kids to race, which actually turned
out to be more of a group effort then an individual race (thank you Matt for your help in pushing them) and a small corn maze and lots of cute things around. We stopped for lunch at a favorite fastfood place (not my favorite, I know call me crazy, I don't know
what it is, but I am not a big fan of the In and Out) and then headed home. It was fun to get out and enjoy the cooler weather (even if it was just temporary….. back into the 90’s blugh!!!)
