Carlsbad California

This past weekend we went to Carlsbad to enjoy good food, good company and the beach! Our best friend Bart (Shawn) came home from Iraq and was being debriefed there at Camp Pendleton. We were all lucky enough to getaway and catch up with each other. We stayed a couple of nights at the Sea Point Resort, in a condo right across from the beach. It was awesome! As you can see we had a great view from our balcony, they also had wagons, chairs, umbrellas, ect. you could check out and take for the day. The kids had fun playing in the sand, flying a kite and playing in the waves. Matt and Bart, they of coarse were out riding the waves. And I just made sure we all stayed afloat. The tide was quite high that day, so there was not a ton of beach area, but It was awesome. We got a picture of us on the beach with our boogie boards, but we really didn’t want to post our white bodies on the internet. It was SOOOO nice to just walk across the street to our hotel. They had a rinse off area so you can get all the sand off of everything and then we walked into the pool area. What a perfect way to end a day at the beach, a nice swim in a clean pool. We also went to Balboa Park and had fun seeing the sights, there was a train museum there, so we went to that and Cody was in Heaven. They had all sorts of trains going every which way. It was great to spend time with Bart and to get away and live life as a true Californian. Bart is a Marine and while he was gone, his new little baby boy was born, so we are excited for him to get home and start enjoying life as a Dad. Thanks for the fun weekend!
