THE PODS

So back tracking a bit, I wanted to post a little bit about leaving Arizona. We procrastinated as long as possible the packing up of our house, probably a little too long. So it was a little stressful towards the end getting everything together and finished up. We sent the Honda off on Tuesday the 27th and then started to really get serious about getting things boxed up. On Wednesday the 28th Matt’s parents arrived that evening. (this visit was planed long before the move was planed) we were SO glad to have their help with packing, cleaning and loving the kids. On Friday the PODS came and we started to load it up. (we decided to go the POD route since we were not sure on when and where we wanted our stuff delivered.) Here is a cute picture of Cody sleeping on the pink crib mattress, next to what is left of his bed and belongings… packing up Cody’s stuff was definitely a lot harder for me then it was for Cody. However he did express…Hey, where did my pink little bed go? On Sunday we blessed Elena and had our last day in our awesome ward. The primary kids and teachers gave me the best card that left me speechless. (ok so I was crying and couldn’t say anything) is was SOOO sweet. On Monday morning we woke up early and loaded that last few things and had to say good bye to Cody’s best friend J.J. who lives next door. It was a real tearjerker. I hope we will see them again, but I don’t think it is real likely. It was SOOOOO sad watching them say their good-byes. Cody has been a real trooper through all of this. We were finally to the point of being packed and ready to go, there was just one last thing we needed…Mogley. Mogley is our cat and he suddenly was no where to be found. We searched and called and yelled and did everything we could possibly to beacon our cat to come. Then the thought came….what if he is in the POD. We unlocked it and called and listened and called and listened, but nothing. By this time the POD guy pulled up to take the POD away. We told the guy that we can’t find our cat, and asked if we could open the POD again real quick and check again. We banged on the walls and called again for Mogley. We were sure he would have come had he been in there. We locked it up again and the POD guy stared moving the POD. While he was doing this, Matt and I said a quick…Heavenly Father please help us find Mogley. The POD guy lowered the POD down before lifting it onto the truck and said to us….you want me to open it up one more time??? Sure why not. The second he opened that door, out bulted Mogley. We were so freaked, we could not believe how close we were to… well… killing our cat. Could you imagine. Augh!!! What a relief. We chased him down and locked him in the cat carrier. We then went in the house and just our little family knelt one last time in our empty family room and had a family prayer. And with tears in our eyes we locked up, buckled up in the car and we were off.
